The Alice Martineau Appeal
A truly spectactular night, The Alice Martineau Appeal kicked off on the 8th June, Alice Martineau's Birthday (Happy Birthday Alice!) with a wonderful reception and auction of paintings. 26 paintings one for each letter of the alphabet, painted by Luke Martineau, Alice Martineau's brother.

Guests included The Duchess of York, who was truly wonderful, championing the cause for the CF Trust and Alice Martineau, as well as Phil Long and Steve Andrews - Alice's managers, Stevie Lange - Alice's Vocal trainer, Alice's Family, Al, her boyfriend, and her friends, as well as reported sightings of Richard and Judy, and Jo Whiley from Radio 1. A huge thankyou goes out to all involved in the event, a lot of effort was put in and it paid off in a big way. Lots of money was raised for the CF Trust with the paintings going for thousands of pounds each.

I must confess to not having heard about Alice until I saw the tv programme about her life. She would not approve but I think so was very brave. Her music was so moving I have decided to track it down. Thanks for the website.

That's great news. I couldn't make it to the appeal launch night but am glad the paintings raised so much. Thanks for including them on the website too so we can all see them.
