Wow. What a truly amazing documentary. Like many others, I had not heard of Alice prior to seeing the programme and just happened to see it advertised the night it was on. I watched avidly and with total admiration for such a gutsy (I won't say brave), ambitious and yet extremely modest young lady with the voice of an angel. I was knocked sideways when I saw the obituary at the end of the programme and realised that she'd been taken away in her prime, and before she'd been able to really become famous. However, like Eva Cassidy before her, I feel sure that with websites like these and tv and media coverage that others will catch on and become fans of Alice and her beautiful music.

Some time has passed now and maybe we can start to gather our thoughts a little. There's no doubt that every so often along comes someone just a bit special. That documentary just grabbed my attention and like so many left me astonished, tearful, can't put it into words. Inside of you

I would just like to echo some of the comments made above as i also share the same views. The only reason that i managed to see the Nine Lives Documentary was purely by chance, why was it not advertised beforehand????? I had not heard of Alice Martineau before the documentary. I have been searching the internet for more info on Alice and where to get her albums (Why didn't the documentary announce the names of the Albums or where to buy them)Will it be on TV again as i would like to tape it??? The documentary itself was amazing, helping to raise public awareness and hitting a personal cord with me.

Have just become an immediate fan, even though I only saw the last 20 minutes of the programme - and that was by accident. Bought CD yesterday and loved it, pariculary Inside of You, which I intend to play over and over. Found website this morning! A truly amazing lady who has touched all the hearts of everyone who have seen her. I hope she gets all the recognition she deserves and she is never forgotten. SF

After last nights documentery I am organising a charity golf match to try and raise as much money as i can in order to prevent any one else with so much zest and talent in life being robbed of that life I erge every one to do the same!

smile After watching the documentary on BBC 2 last night i was blown away. What a talented,(although as im sure she will hate it being said) Brave incredible young lady. As you have all said - an inspiration to us all. Lets hope her music remains in all our hearts and her memories in those of her friends, relatives and family. Sometimes life just isnt fair but in her short time here she achieved so much! Now wipe those eyes and go buy her album!!

Tried to e mail but my mail seems to be playing up. Would very much like to know if I could buy the video "Nine Lives" as missed the first part. Also what is the name of Alice's singing teacher? Thanks
Wonderful documentary, why was it shown so late!!!

What a shame BBC did not show this on BBC at primetime - Alice was truly inspirational, lifes too short and can be unkind but however long we are on this planet you should live every day day happy. More people should have seen this program. Bless ya Alice! Jez smile

I must confess that I had never heared of Alice until I was lucky enough to stumble across her life story on TV last night. When I eventually fell asleep, no easy task, I woke with her still in my mind. An inspiration never to waste another day. What a shame never to have known her. Can you buy the video, I'll show it to my kinds when they grow up!

I too shed some tears and it sure made me put some things in my life into perspective!! ..Will the documentary ever be shown again? i do hope so !

What can I say!!This woman in my mind should be an inspiration to absolutely everyone. I was switching channels last night, and came upon the docu,I simply could not go to bed until I had watched the whole of it, (repeat it at an earlier time, so my daughters can see it, please). I have to admit, I had not heard of her before, but the question I am asking myself this morning is whyhad I not heard of her? everybody should listen to this album. What Alice achieved in her short life, was more than alot of people achieve in a long life. I cried last night when the song "Inside of you " was played, cried even more when the credits rolled, and cried this morning when I told my partner the outcome(he went to bed). I will be buying the album today. My last comment can only be "Life is cruel" and WHY? smile

too many wines, first time I have seen the girl, first time I have seen the illness away from the usual paid for crap. I did not watch it I stumbled across it!! I love the monority, eva cassidy stuff, and that girl was up there with the best! What did piss me off was all her mates stating that a gap year was the norm!!! I dont know do you??

smileHave just finished watching the 'Nine Lives' documentary, I am totally blown away with the strength of character displayed by Alice.
Not being a Radio 1 listener, I must admit that although aware of, I had not listened to any of Alice's music, this I feel will change I am sure. The only criticsm the programme should be repeated at an earlier hour, so her music is given a greater TV audience.

I have just watched the Nine Lives documentary. I sat transfixed to the screen watching the achievements of a truly amazing person and the wonderful people that surrounded her. Such a sad end to such a positive tale. I hope Alice gets the recognition she deserves and her music lives on in those lucky enough to hear and feel it.
